“I’m an experienced professional with an extensive background in marketing and technology. I’ve developed and implemented business and marketing plans for companies that range from 2 – over 1,000 employees, as well as major public events. I’ve written press releases and articles that have been published in both the Daily News and the Magazine of Santa Clarita. I am always eager to learn new methods and procedures and have implemented improvement techniques in my past positions that have saved time and money. I like working with people and enjoy group projects, but am also a self starter who doesn’t mind working on my own. I’m the Templeton Memorial manager for the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund and a card carrying member of the Santa Clarita Jaycees. My short term goals are to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of La Verne and broaden my experience with the City.”

That's what I'm going to say when they ask "tell us about yourself" at my interview today. I'm interviewing for an Admin Analyst position in the Economic Development division here at the City. The only issue is that there will be an internal recruitment for an IT Analyst opeing in the next three days. There is a sizable difference in salary between the two (the IT position being much higher) and I'm very confident I would get that position. So what to do?

Today I will interview for the Econ Dev position, but in the back of my mind I hope the three person panel (Andree, Kristi and someone from the Chamber) make the decision for me easy for me.
